3 Ways To Afford Full-Time Travel

Jacques Barie

Introduction

The idea of full-time travel has been on my mind for a while. I’ve never been one to stay in one place for too long, and I’ve always wanted to explore the world. But I also have bills to pay, so it’s important that I find a way to afford traveling full-time without going into debt or breaking the bank. Luckily, there are plenty of ways you can do just that!

Save money first.

The first step to saving for travel is to start saving early. A good rule of thumb is to have six months of your income saved in an emergency fund, but that can be hard to do when you’re young and just starting out. The easiest way to save money is by making it a habit, so set up automatic transfers from your paycheck or bank account into a separate savings account every week or two.

Make sure you’re saving from multiple sources: side hustles like freelancing or Airbnb hosting are great ways to add extra funds into your travel fund each month; so are tax refunds, credit card rewards programs and cash back offers (if they’ll work with the type of card). Finally, don’t forget about those “extra” checks that come around every year like Christmas bonuses or birthday gifts–these could be perfect opportunities for adding funds into your travel fund!

Find a cheap way to travel.

Now that you’ve figured out how much money you need to save, the next step is finding a way to get there. The good news is that there are many ways to do this. Here are some of my favorites:

  • Low cost airlines: You’ll probably be surprised at how many airlines offer affordable flights throughout Europe and Asia. Norwegian Air and Ryanair are great examples–they both have super cheap fares if you book in advance and don’t mind sitting in economy class for several hours (or days). If budget isn’t an issue for your trip and comfort matters more than anything else, try flying with one of these airlines once or twice before committing all your travel plans around them; otherwise, they could end up being more trouble than they’re worth!
  • Cheap car rental companies: If driving yourself around Europe sounds like too much work but still want some freedom from public transportation schedules and costs then renting a car might be right up your alley! But before jumping into this option consider these two things first: 1) Is Insurance Included? 2) What Are Their Cancellation Policies?

There are multiple ways to afford full-time travel, and you can use them all at once. If you’re looking for some inspiration on how this could work for you, here are some ideas:

  • Traveling is a great way to explore the world and meet new people. It’s also an opportunity to learn about yourself, as well as what makes others happy in life. You may even find yourself living somewhere new–and loving it!
  • While traveling may seem like an expensive venture at first glance (and even second), there are actually many ways that it can save money over time by getting rid of frivolous purchases or unnecessary expenses such as cable television subscriptions or gym memberships (which most people don’t use anyway). In fact, if done right–and with careful planning beforehand–it’s possible that traveling will actually make more money than staying put because of all those extra hours spent working toward larger goals like paying off student loans faster than expected (or even better yet).

Conclusion

I hope that my story has inspired you to pursue your own travel dreams. If you’re feeling stuck or unsure of where to begin, don’t worry! There are so many ways to afford full-time travel–and it starts with just one step. The most important thing is that you take action towards making your dream come true today.
